Hmm… I don’t really know this app, but there seem to be quite a few similar reports on Reddit:
Assuming you mean Meta’s Muse, the good news is that Meta has already announced a real-time Voice Mode, and Muse has an official Android app. So you shouldn’t need a computer just to use its normal voice features.
The catch is that I couldn’t confirm that live voice conversations are available to every Android user yet. Several Reddit users are looking for the same feature, while others say they’ve managed to get Muse to send recorded voice replies.
Meta’s announcements:
What I’d try first
1. Check whether your Muse app already has a live voice conversation option.
If it does, try that first. That would be the simplest way to have an actual back-and-forth conversation.
2. If you don’t have live voice yet, try voice messages instead.
If your Muse chat lets you record a voice message, send a short one and ask:
Please reply with a voice message instead of text.
Some Reddit users report that this works, and one mentioned getting additional voice options after asking Muse to respond that way.
See:
These are user reports rather than official instructions, so I can’t guarantee it’ll work on your account. But it’s a simple experiment that doesn’t require a PC, coding, or installing anything extra.
The important test is whether Muse actually sends you playable audio, rather than merely saying in text that it can speak.
3. About Samuel L. Jackson’s voice
I couldn’t find confirmation of an official Samuel L. Jackson voice option for Muse.
However, Meta has demonstrated voice customization, including requests to speak faster, slower, or with a particular accent.
Once you have spoken replies working, you could try asking for something like:
I’d like a deep, warm, expressive voice with a confident, cinematic delivery.
That might get you closer to the general style you’re looking for, if your version supports voice customization. It wouldn’t necessarily reproduce the actor’s actual voice.
Meta’s Connect announcement discusses those customization features.
Why the Reddit reports seem to disagree
There are actually three different things people may mean by “voice” here.
Voice input or dictation
You speak into your phone, and Muse receives your words.
Muse might still answer in text. This doesn’t necessarily mean spoken replies are available.
Voice messages
You record and send a voice clip. Muse may respond with another recorded audio message.
This is what some Reddit users say they’ve gotten working.
It can be useful, but you generally have to exchange messages rather than hold a continuous conversation.
Live Voice Mode
This is the more natural experience where you speak with Muse in real time.
Meta demonstrated this at Connect 2026, but the announcement doesn’t establish that every Android account already has access.
For example:
- In the September 27 Does your Muse Talk? discussion, an Android user couldn’t find the voice mode shown in Meta’s presentation.
- In the October 6 Voice to voice discussion, people were still asking when normal spoken conversations would arrive.
- In the October 13–14 discussions linked above, some users described voice-message replies, while others were still waiting for live conversations.
These reports don’t establish why particular accounts differ. Availability, app versions, regions, or other conditions could matter.
They do suggest that not seeing live voice on your phone doesn’t automatically mean you’re doing something wrong.
If you still can't get spoken replies
A few possibilities are worth separating.
If you don’t see a live voice option:
- Check that you’re using the official, updated Muse Android app on Google Play.
- Keep in mind that Muse initially launched in the US, and availability may vary.
- If your app works normally but doesn’t show live voice, that alone isn’t enough to identify a problem with your phone.
If you can record voice messages but Muse replies only in text:
- Try the voice-message request above once.
- If you still receive only text, the Reddit workaround may not be available on your account.
- There’s no reason to keep repeating the same request indefinitely.
If your phone won’t record your voice at all:
That is a different problem. Checking the app’s microphone permission in Android settings would be a reasonable first step.
If you want access to upcoming features:
Meta also announced an early-access interest program.
According to TechCrunch’s September 25 report, you can ask Muse:
Can you let the Muse team know I want to be part of the Muse early access program?
This expresses interest in new features. It isn’t a guaranteed way to unlock Voice Mode, and I couldn’t confirm a voice-specific waiting list.
If speaking with an AI right now matters more than using Muse specifically:
The separate Meta AI app also has voice-conversation functionality. That may be a temporary alternative, but it isn’t the same as talking to your particular Muse, and I wouldn’t assume it shares your Muse’s memories or settings.
I’d avoid unofficial APKs or unfamiliar celebrity voice-cloning services, especially when the official app may eventually provide the features you need.
So my first choice would be to try a short voice message and ask Muse to answer with audio.
If you get a playable voice reply, that’s already a useful first step. If not, it may simply be a feature that’s not available through your current app or account yet.
And if anyone has managed to get the actual live Voice Mode working in the regular Android Muse app, especially with custom voices, their experience would be useful here too.
