Access request rejection
Hello,
My access request to meta-llama/Meta-Llama-3-8B-Instruct was rejected, and no reason was provided.
I am a researcher at Com2usN working on academic, non-commercial research in procedural 3D scene and character-motion generation.
I am requesting access because Meta-Llama-3-8B-Instruct is a required dependency of NVIDIA's open-source Kimodo motion-synthesis model
(nvidia/Kimodo-SMPLX-RP-v1, released under NVIDIA's research licence). Kimodo conditions on text embeddings produced by LLM2Vec
(McGill-NLP/LLM2Vec-Meta-Llama-3-8B-Instruct-mntp, MIT), which requires Meta-Llama-3-8B-Instruct as its base model. The adapters are publicly
available, but they cannot be used without the base weights.
To be precise about the scope of my use: the model is used only as a frozen text encoder. I do not generate text with it, do not fine-tune it,
and do not modify its weights. I extract hidden-state embeddings that are consumed by a separate motion model.
I will comply fully with the Meta Llama 3 Community License. I will not redistribute, share, or publicly release the model weights or any
derivative of them. The work is non-commercial academic research and no model artifacts will be released.
Could you please clarify the reason for the rejection and reconsider my request?
Thank you for your time.
